About Role The Boarding Specialist is responsible for assisting the Head of Boarding in providing and promoting a safe, caring, and organized environment for boarding students while living on campus. • Dynamic, forward-thinking of the boarding community. • Development of boarding which supports the philosophy, aims and policies of the School, and promotes a high level of achievement in all areas of boarding life. • Ensure that parents and guardians are well informed about the School’s boarding policies and all aspects of the care and welfare of boarding pupils. • Be a link between school and families using Mandarin and English confidently to communicate. Job Requirements fluency in Mandarin and working knowledge of English is essential. Responsibilities: • Meet regularly with the House team to discuss boarding matters such as wellbeing of students, communication with families. • Maintain travel database and ensure emails for travel are received and logged so students are kept safe. • Participate in training to expand skills in relation to working in a School and boarding environment. • Maintain a routine for the boarding house. • Ensure that boarding is up to date with local compliance alongside the DBA. • To ensure that families are kept up to date with how their child is doing in boarding – both positive and negative as guided by the HoB. • Ensure that parents have emailed about travel arrangements/time away from boarding/visits and keep a clear record of these requests. • Pass any concerns about a student/family/staff to the HoB. • Deal with any minor breaking of rules, keeping a note of them. • Pass any major issues to HoB and work together to resolve and progress the situation. • Ensure that medical matters are dea
