The Vice-Principal will foster a holistic, forward-thinking, creative learning environment and will ensure the academic programmes are contemporary, challenging and relevant. A key element of the role is in fostering conditions whereby curriculum innovation (next practice) is embedded in practice and prevails throughout the school. Key Responsibilities Management ● Liaise with other administrators to ensure effective daily operation and longer-range planning of the school ● Oversee and evaluate the work of coordinators, faculty and academic staff ● Ensure the school continues to be aligned with the IBO Staff ● Recommend staffing needs for the school ● Assist the School where required to recruit appropriately qualified teachers to best meet the needs of the educational programme ● Maintain and further develop the school's teacher appraisal and evaluation procedures ● Oversee and organise a regular meeting and reporting process with the support and administration staff ● Playing a leading role in the faculty staff professional development programme. Students ● Be responsible for the health and welfare of the children within the school environment ● Set and maintain appropriate standards of behaviour throughout the school ● Assume responsibility for efforts to improve student achievement Curriculum and Timetable ● Collaboratively oversee the development of curriculum and lead the transformation of teaching & learning in line with the school vision. ● Support the development of teaching and learning strategies that utilize flexible learning space in transformational ways. ● Oversee the visioning & implementation process for the development of an entrepreneurial project-based learning programme ● Oversee the work of the faculty and the development, implementation and evaluation of the school curriculum ● Stay abreast of current educational development, including the impact of technology on the process of learning and communication Communication ● Maintain effective communication with the staff and broader community through meetings, bulletins and internal communication platforms Other ● Assume leadership of and responsibility for the School as requested
